5th grade students at Rodgers Elementary put their force and motion skills to the test today! Using just 5 materials, they engineered catapults, launched objects with different forces, and measured how far they could fly—then graphed their results like real scientists!

RES 2nd graders and visitors celebrated the last 10 days of school, with each day having a fun theme! Wednesday was BEACH DAY, complete with a huge pink flamingo, beach towels, and popsicles! Thursday was CAMP DAY, complete with tents, smores, STEAM activities with toothpicks, making binoculars, and telling camp stories by the "campfire!" So much fun was had by all!

Rodgers Elementary staff recently celebrated four amazing team members who won’t be returning next year with a sweet ice cream social. 🍦💙
Lynn Rogerson, Lisa Bullock, Kelly Meeks, and (not pictured) Margaret Thompson were honored with gifts and enjoyed a special time of reminiscing with their RES family.
A heartfelt thank you to the RES PTA for providing the delicious treats and making the afternoon so special!
This week we celebrated our amazing RES students with a WATER FUN PBIS event! 💦 Huge THANK YOU to the Bear Grass Fire Department and Mr. Jonathan Cowin for bringing the fire truck and spraying students as they raced down the giant slip-n-slide! 🚒 Kids also had a blast with water balloons, a sponge relay race, dancing to fun music, and cooling off with yummy freeze pops. 😋 It was a fun, memorable, and very WET day - perfect for wrapping up the year with smiles and laughter! ☀️💙

5th Grade Awards Day was full of celebration, music, laughter, and pride! 🎉 Our amazing 5th graders showed off their recorder skills, received well-deserved awards, and enjoyed one last special moment together at RES. 💙 We’re so proud of this group—they’ve grown so much, and while we’re sad to see them go, we know they’ll do great things in middle school!

Learning and fun never stop at Rodgers Elementary! All grades/classes got to create, collaborate, and/or problem solve with games and Legos during Media classes this week. Grades 3-5 learned about algorithms, the creator of the Rubik's cube, the difference between having a bubble brain versus a brick brain (Growth vs. Fixed mindset) , and then worked on the first steps in solving the Rubik's cube!

Today our Kindergarteners had their Awards Ceremony, and it was absolutely adorable! 💙 All the students wore matching shirts, sang two of the cutest songs, and beamed with pride as they received their completion certificates and awards. We are so proud of our littlest Cubs and all they’ve accomplished this year! 🐾
