This week we will be celebrating Read Across America week. Please see our post on social media for daily activities. Also, this week we will kick off our Kids Heart challenge. Information was sent home about this and you can also use the link on FB to support this effort. Kindergarten registration will be held at the Innovation Campus on Wednesday, March 5 from 12 to 7pm and on Thursday, March 6 from 8 to 2. Due to predicted ice and snow, Martin County Schools will hold a virtual learning day for students on tomorrow, Wednesday, February 19th. Learning packets were sent home with all students today! Teachers will also post assignments in ClassDojo and/or in Google Classroom. These packets must be turned in when students return to school in order for them to be counted present for the school day. Please reach out to your child’s teacher via email or ClassDojo if you have any questions or if you need assistance! Please stay safe!

Please see the information below for Virtual Learning Day assignments for Thursday, January 23 and Friday, January 24. A majority of these assignments do not require internet/technology. For students without internet or technology access, practice writing a story about your snow day adventures, read a book, and practice basic math facts. These assignments must be completed and submitted in order for your student to be marked 'present' for the remote learning days. I hope you enjoy making lots of memories with your families! Foods II students understanding the Amino Acid chain while Culinary Arts students are putting that knowledge to work in the kitchen making Hibachi Chicken with homemade Yum Yum sauce! The CTE Foods & Nutrition Department is cooking... literally!
Students have started this semester focused and ready in Health Science Careers class taught by Mrs. R. Revels. As you can see in the pics, these students love the exploration and hands-on opportunities in these Health Science modules. We are not only lighting a fire for health-related careers, but also igniting champions in MCS Career & Tech Ed classes.
An awesome experience for MCS students today at the Innovation Campus & Early College with BeProBeProudNC. What an amazing facility to participate in North Carolina's trade industry. Students welded, drove 18 wheelers, operated an industrial crane and excavator, timber machinery, and had options to work in the plumbing, electrical, diesel mechanic, or construction field. MCS wants to provide every student, every opportunity! Tomorrow the BPBPNC Trades Truck rolls on to the campus of Martin County High School.

MCS is building programs and pathways as the 2024-25 school year begins. Current construction is for the Spring Horticulture and Hydroponics program! Students are already enjoying the new Core Construction, Health Science Career Labs, and Natural Resource courses.
