Did someone say snow day + study time? We loved seeing students and families make the most of this winter week—playing outside, laughing together, and even squeezing in some remote learning. What snowy memory made you smile this week? Share a photo or story below!

We will have our next Car Line Coffee Fundraiser on Friday, Feb. 13. We greatly appreciate your support!

Ready for some Friday fun? Free Choice Friday had students choosing a lively game of dodgeball with Coach Lilley to kick off the weekend! It’s amazing how a few minutes of movement and teamwork can lift spirits and build friendships.

Have you seen our MIEP students with their instruments yet? This is our first year offering elementary band, and Mr. P has them learning so much already. We’re so proud of how confidently they’re showing off what they’ve learned — heartwarming performances and big smiles all around!

Want to see students lead with empathy and confidence? A group of 3rd and 4th grade MIEP students are taking Peer Mediation training with the Mediation Center of Eastern North Carolina. These students will learn active listening and conflict-resolution skills so that they can help classmates work out disagreements peacefully.

Curious about Free-Choice Fridays? Some of our MIEP students tried an introductory crochet class — they made some beautiful, unique designs and supported one another every step of the way. It was a joyful day of learning for both students and teachers!

Ever seen coordinate geometry come to life? Our 5th grade students programmed Spheros to navigate the first quadrant, learned to add a delay for perfect 90° turns, and worked in teams to solve real-time challenges. They connected this hands-on experience to ELA discussions about the value of technology in learning. These future engineers and mathematicians were 100% engaged

Making snow and building snowmen while practicing letter names and sounds was "snow much fun" today!

What a joyful day! On Thursday, Jan. 22 we celebrated our scholars for the 2nd 9 weeks and recognized students across many achievements — Terrific Kid, Math Masters, Rockstar Reader, Honor Roll, Principal’s List, and more. We are so proud of their dedication and growth!

Want to see science in motion? Big thanks to Mrs. Amy Bennett for coming in to help our 4th graders experiment with Spheros today! They investigated energy transfer by adjusting robot speed — and walked away buzzing with curiosity.

Recognition in action: Thank you to Ms. Sharon Godard (Mary Kay consultant) and Mrs. Griffin for organizing a hand and lip treatment session to pamper our teachers. Thoughtful gestures like this support staff well‑being and boost morale—small investments with meaningful returns.

We are here to help! If you need assitance with your MIEP or MIMS application, please come on out and see our team. We will be here until 6:00. We would love to see you!

Curious minds met helpful hands! Martin Memorial Library visited our MIEP students to demo their website and online resources — opening up so many new ways to learn and explore. We’re so grateful for their support and the access they give our students.

Did someone say mural adventure? Our exceptionally talented STEAM students have been learning about murals and creating their own masterpieces in class. Today they took those ideas into the community to view local murals and topped the day off with a fun visit to Snack Shack! We are so appreciative of our community partners who help make learning meaningful and memorable.
