After reading "The Foolish Milkmaid," students in Mrs. Barsanti’s 2nd grade class became clever milkmaids! Using the Engineering Design Process, they planned, designed, created, and tested their own buckets that could carry water balanced on their heads just like the milkmaid in the story. What a fun way to blend literature, creativity, and engineering!”

Fifth graders in Mrs. Jenna Hardison’s class explored volume with composite figures today! Students worked with different shapes, applied their math skills, and investigated how volume can be measured - great problem-solving in action!

We had an amazing turnout tonight for our PTA Meeting and Title I/Curriculum Night at Jamesville! After a brief PTA meeting and a presentation by Mr. Pake, parents joined their child’s teachers in classrooms for engaging presentations. Families learned about the various curriculums their children will use this year and even participated in some fun activities, including STEM challenges! It was a wonderful evening of connection, learning, and partnership!

🎃✨Who says STEM activities are for older students? Our Kindergarten had a BIG problem to solve this week after reading The Biggest Pumpkin Ever! Clayton and Desmond grew the largest pumpkin in town...but how could they move it? Our young engineers worked in teams to plan, design, and test ways to transport their own "giant pumpkins". 🛠️🍂We loved seeing their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills shine! 💡

5th graders in Mrs. Jenna's class are experiencing hands on learning and bringing math to life as they break apart composite prisms in order to find volume.

5th grade ELA classes at Jamesville added some STEM fun to their science unit on force and motion! Students read about force and motion, along with the book After the Fall, then used the engineering design process to build the tallest, safest wall structure for Humpty to sit on. They also designed cradles to help Humpty land safely if he fell from playground equipment. Tomorrow, students will take it even further by writing a narrative story inspired by After the Fall. What a great way to combine reading, science, and hands-on learning!”

More STEAM fun at Jamesville last week! Our 5th graders took on the Cup Challenge, working together to stack cups to match each picture using only a rubber band and string (no hands allowed! ). Each level got trickier, but with teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving, they were up for the challenge!

Mrs. Johnson’s students were engineers today! Working in teams, they designed and built bridges across a “river” using the engineering design process. Lots of collaboration, problem-solving, and BIG smiles! Students were engaged every step of the way!

Come see us at the CTE Tailgate before the big game tonight! We will be located right at the gate entrance.
