
Good evening JES! Here are a few quick announcements: Tuesday, August 3rd we welcome our kindergarten students and their parents to "Popsicles with the Principal" 6-7pm. Community Meeting with the Superintendent will be August 10th at 6:30 pm. We welcome students and families for Open House Thursday, August 19th 4-7pm. We look forward to seeing everyone soon!

Due to the possible impacts of Hurricane Elsa on our area, Martin County Schools will not operate Summer School or the Summer Feeding Program on Thursday, July 8.
Students and staff members working Summer School or the Summer Feeding Program should not report and no buses will run tomorrow.
At this time, all other MCS staff currently working should report on a regular schedule. If that changes, we will update everyone.
MCS Summer School and the Summer Feeding Program will resume on a regular schedule Friday, July 9.
Please monitor local weather stations and exercise caution until this storm clears our area.


All Martin County parents whose children are attending the K-8 Summer Learning Recovery Program and are interested in their children attending the Boys & Girls Club summer camp at the Robersonville and Williamston Units must contact the unit directors to register and complete a parent orientation before attending the first day of camp on Monday, June 14, 2021. Orientations are scheduled for Tuesday, June 8 @ South Creek Elementary and Thursday, June 10, at EJ Hayes. The time for both meetings is 5:30 pm.
Boys and Girls Club staff will not accept any child who does not have completed paperwork and the parent orientation. Therefore, your child will NOT be able to stay after 12:30pm at the MCS Summer Learning Recovery Program.
At this time, there is now a waiting list for the Boys and Girls Club. Students will be added to the camp in the order of registration.
Most importantly, the Boys and Girls Club will not open until Monday, June 14th for those registered and accepted. On June 10th and 11th, all students K-8 will be transported by bus if and ONLY if parents chose PM transportation. All other students will need to be picked up at the school where they are assigned for summer learning.

Good afternoon JES! Students attending the Summer Learning Program will begin June 10th. The Boys and Girls Club will not begin until June 14th. Students will be released from SLP June 10th and 11th at 12:30. Those assigned to buses will be transported home early the first two days. All parents that signed their child up for the Boys and Girls Club summer camp must contact the unit director to register and complete orientation before attending camp on Monday June 14th. Kindergarten registration packets are available online or paper packet pickup, if your child will be 5 years old on or before August 31, 2021. Registration table is out front of the school with required paperwork. Registration will be this week and April 12-23.

Good afternoon JES!
Parents and students this is a four day week! We need students to school on time and ready to work hard! Friday, April 2nd is an Optional Teacher Work Day/NO SCHOOL for students. April 5th-9th Students are out for Spring Break. Students return to school Monday, April 12th. The 5th Grading Period ends Friday, April 16th.
Thanks to the families that participated in the American Heart Association Kids Heart Challenge.
Yearbook orders begin tomorrow March 29th $20 Cash or Check-Payable to JES. Delivery will be the end of April.
JES continues with daily screenings and attestation forms. Please have the “pink forms” ready with student name, parent signature and date. Students arriving on campus after 7:55am will be tardy. Please follow MCS dress code; Leggings are not dress code.
Please send water with students each morning. Water fountains are not available to students during the day. If anyone would like to donate bottles of water to JES for students, place on the benches out front. Thank you in advance.

Good evening JES!
We continue to follow safety and health guidelines throughout the school by social distancing, wearing masks and washing hands. Beginning Monday, March 1st students will begin to change classes to attend resources classes such as PE, Art and Music. Recess will continue with individuals classes with limited use of equipment. Masks are required for all activities. At this time, students will continue to eat breakfast and lunch in their classroom.
We are so excited to kick off Read Across America Week with our Book Fair-"Enchanted Forest." Book fair will be open from Monday, March 1st through Friday, March 5th. We apologize, but due to current guidelines parents are not allowed in the building.

Rain, rain go away! Monday, February 15th will be a regular school day and Friday, February 19th NO SCHOOL for students/Optional Workday for teachers.
3rd-5th grade will take Check in assessments this week in reading and math. 5th grade will also have a science assessment.
Students continue to follow safety guidelines for arrival and throughout the day. Masks are required along with social distancing and regular hand washing. Thanks for everyone’s cooperation!
Thursday, February 25th is a Virtual Learning Day for students; No students on campus. Parent-teacher conferences Feb 25th & 26th will be held virtually or by phone. Report cards go home with students Monday, March 1st. Virtual student report cards will be mailed.
Please make sure students have attestation slips and backpacks ready each morning at drop off. Turn off heat in vehicles once on campus to avoid re screening.

Students return to school Monday, February 8th! We are excited to return to face to face learning. Safety guidelines and screening procedures will still be in place. Morning arrival will include temperature checks and completed attestation slips (pink slips). In class students will continue to distance and wear masks throughout the day. Lunch will be served in the room.
Thank you Mr. Groundhog! More cold for us. There will be Black History & Kindness activities in classes throughout the month of February. Students may exchange valentine cards in their classes. More information will come from individual teachers. Check out our facebook page for some activities.
Assignments for the week of Feb. 1st-5th are due Sunday, Feb. 7th. Students need to bring back their iReady books and Chromebook.

Enchanted Forest Book Fair Coming Soon!



Good evening JES! We hope everyone enjoyed the snow. Please share your snow pics with your teachers.
Virtual Learning will continue through Feb 5th. Students will return to campus Monday, February, 8th.
Tuesday, Feb. 2nd is Groundhog Day. What is your prediction? Will spring arrive early?
Students need to attend daily LIVE sessions with their teachers and complete assignments. Work is due the week it is assigned. Assignments for the week of Jan 25th-29th are due Sunday, Jan. 31st.
Curbside meals continue at the school from 11 am-1 pm. Mobile food delivery also continues to Cedar Branch Church, Gospel Light and Roanoke Court.
Parents and students check email and PowerSchool regularly for updates on grades and assignments. Check out the MCS app. Easy to access updates and information.

Pre-K through 12th grade instruction will be virtual tomorrow Friday, Jan. 29th; no students will be on campus. All staff report on a two hour delay. Meals will be available for curbside pickup at the school and mobile distribution from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM.
