Fraction Focus in Mrs. White’s Class! Mrs. White’s students are diving deep into fractions and building their mathematical confidence! While she worked closely with two students, providing targeted support, the rest of the class stayed engaged and on task—some working on fraction activities on their Chromebooks, while others completed a half-sheet practice to reinforce their understanding. This balance of small-group instruction, independent practice, and technology integration is helping students strengthen their fraction skills in multiple ways. Keep up the great work, scholars—your hard work is adding up to success! #GoingForTheGOLD

Building Connections Through Thinking: 4th & 5th Graders Engage in Collaborative Learning Students in 4th and 5th grade participated in hexagonal thinking. An activity that promotes analyzing connections among information through collaboration. They were given the following sentence starters, "successful knowledge building is..., I face challenges by..., I am a learner who learns best..., and the responsibility I have to my learning..." This activity promoted no right answers and no wrong answers, just thinking. After responding to each prompt, students joined partners first and then multiple partner groups to communicate and connect their diverse responses and reasoning skills.

We hope all is well. Due to changes related to the weather, we have decided to change the date for academic awards to Wednesday, January 29th. This will provide adequate time for printing awards for students as well as report cards and other academic reports. We will maintain the times for each grade level to ensure our teachers can actively participate in celebrating student accomplishments. Your child's teacher should have sent you a message through Class Dojo regarding whether or not your child will be receiving a reward based on grades and/or growth in iReady data for the middle of the year. If you have not heard from your child's teacher, please make sure that you send them a private message through Class Dojo.
