Students at the Martin Innovative Early College had a visit from Jaykobi Cochrane, Regional Continuous Improvement Engineering Director, for IPG in Everetts. The Company develops, manufactures, and sells a variety of solutions including paper and film-based pressure-sensitive and water-activated tapes, stretch and shrink films, protective packaging, woven and non-woven products, and packaging machinery. Cochrane provided an overview of the career opportunities within IPG. He also addressed the importance of safety in the workplace and discussed the use of technology.

Armbands for the Washington County basketball game will be sold all day Wednesday and Thursday until 12:00 Noon. No tickets will be sold at the door, so you have to buy an armband if you want to go to the game.

Good evening South Creek and Riverside HS families. This Mr. Mizelle with your weekly reminders. Attention all 12th graders: FASFA Night is on Jan. 29 from 5 pm to 7 pm in the media center. Any 12th grader who would like to purchase a senior ad for the yearbook needs to contact Mr. Joey Griffin asap. The deadline is Feb. 23. Yearbooks will be on sale in the coming weeks. You will have to pre-order and pay for the yearbook this year. Prom tickets go on sale February 6th. Tickets are $35 a person or $60 a couple. Nurse Spence will be in charge of ticket sales and exact change or a check must be used as payment. Please see Ms. Whitaker or Ms. Cardwell for more information. On Jan. 31, there is a NC Central University Campus tour for 11th and 12th graders with a 2.5 GPA. You must register for this tour by contacting Ms. James or Mr. Mcgill. The band is hosting a pancake supper fundraiser on Feb. 8 from 5-8pm. Please see a band student or simply come to the event to purchase tickets. If you are interested in practicing and competing on the Martin County Hunter Safety Team, please email or see Mr. Bennett for more information. Please remind all students that cell phones are not allowed out in the classroom. Head coverings are not allowed to be worn in the building. All students need to remember to bring their school issued chromebook fully charged daily. We had a great 2 days of in person learning this past week and look forward to many more days of learning with all of our students. We hope you had a great weekend. A Different Kind of AI: The MCS CTE Animal Science program received a special educational session with Dr. Kayla Castevens from Country View Family Farms. "Dr. Kayla" provided an instructional presentation and then used the pig mannequins to demonstrate the AI process. Students then had the opportunity to participate and understand the importance of this technique for sow farms and swine production.

Good evening. This Mr. Mizelle with your weekly reminders. Seniors are encouraged to sign up for a meeting with Ms. James to complete their FSA ID which will help them get a head start on the FASFA process for college. FASFA Night is on Jan. 29 from 5 pm to 7 pm in the media center. There will be a RHS Sr. class meeting in the media center at 6 pm on Jan. 24. Fall Semester Graduation for RHS seniors with the required credits to graduate will be on Jan. 25 at 6 pm in the auditorium. RHS- If you have not paid your senior dues, the fees are $100. Please see Ms. Hoggard for more information. Jan. 23 there will be a second semester open house from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. All Riverside and South Creek HS students/parents are invited to come and meet their second semester teachers. Please join us for an important presentation by the administration/student services dept. in the auditorium at 5:45 pm. We will review all the exciting things that our campus has to offer. We ask that everyone start at RHS and then transition to the innovative campus afterwards. Washington County has given us 150 tickets (wristbands) for presale. We will allow each athlete to buy two tickets. Tickets will go on sale for the current basketball players and cheerleaders all day tomorrow, Jan 19th until 1:00. Tickets will go on sale to the public starting Friday, Jan 19th from 1:30-3:30 and Monday, Jan 22 from 8:00-3:30, and Tuesday, Jan 23 from 8:00-1:30. Wristbands must be on your wrist to enter the game.
