This initiative is centered on fostering true AI agency—empowering our school community to create custom AI tools that directly align with our district's goals and priorities.
Here’s a look at our progress so far:
District Leadership in Action: Our team recently attended Convening #1, gaining hands-on experience designing and building custom AI apps to tackle real-world challenges in our district.
Student Creators Lead the Way: A select group of middle and high school students is already getting in on the action! Following specialized training, these students stepped into the builder's seat and created their very own custom apps.
Our goal goes far beyond AI literacy. We are building AI agency: equipping educators and students to build with AI, not just use it.
Stay tuned as we continue this work to bring sustainable, creative, and responsible AI innovation to our classrooms!

Could its next chapter inspire a young student to fall in love with band?
That clarinet, trumpet, flute—or other band instrument that once filled your home with music—may be ready for an encore.
Martin County Schools’ growing Elementary Band Program is seeking previously loved instruments to help our youngest musicians take their very first steps into the world of music.
We have an immediate need for 1 clarinet, 1 trumpet, and 1 flute, and anticipate additional needs as the program continues to grow.
For a new student, your donated instrument could become more than something they learn to play. It could be the beginning of confidence, creativity, friendships, performances, and a love of music that stays with them for years to come.
🎺 Pass along the music.
Donated instruments may be dropped off at any MCS campus or at MCS Central Office, 407 East Boulevard, Williamston.

For the remainder of summer, our office will be open from 7:00am to 5:00pm Mondays through Thursdays.
Our office will be closed on Fridays.
