Our MIMS students celebrated Constitution Week by designing their own informational pamphlet to explain all things Constitution. Students explored the Bill of Rights, Constitutional Convention, The Seven Articles, & many other aspects of the Constitution.

We are so proud of our students taking part in the performance of Finding Nemo. Catch them Saturday and Sunday for their final two performances.

Last week our 8th graders had a chance to virtually see the 911 Memorials in New York City and in D.C. It was a moving experience for them to understand what our nation endured.

8th Grade World History students put on their construction hats last week. As part of their Ancient Civilzations Unit they were tasked with building a Roman Aqueduct. Students had to use knowledge from multiple subjects to complete this project, including slope and gravity. Science & math in history class. How fun!

Soccer is in full swing! We play at Bear Grass on Monday at 4:00 PM, and then again at Indian Lakes Sports Complex in Tarboro on Tuesday at 4 pm. Let’s cheer on our Gators!

Volleyball is here at Riverside on Thursday at 4:00 PM—come pack the stands and show your school spirit!

Big reminder: Wednesday, September 10th is an Early Release Day! We will dismiss at 11:55 AM sharp. That means a shorter day for our students and extra planning time for our teachers. Families, please make arrangements for pickup!

Also, we are kicking off our i-Ready Math Diagnostic. We’re asking every scholar to do their absolute best so we know exactly how to support their growth this year. Parents, please encourage your child to come focused and ready to shine.

Ms. Leggett's Social Studies Classes had a wonderful opportunity to see Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome upclose in virtual reality. What an engaging extension to the curriculum!

Students read and collaborated about the impact and lessons taught by Kobi Yamada books.  Students made connections to themselves and their hopes and dreams.  Learning to keep trying, face your fears, push themselves, and taking a chance on themselves!

Play-doh in middle school? Definitely! Our 7th grade MIMS kids learned about different landforms today. Students had the opportunity to construct their own out of play-doh. What fun!
