Our bibliophile strikes again! Mrs. Deaton, our 7th grade science teacher, purchased this wonderful collection of books from our bookfair to put in our library. This is the second generous donation from Mrs. Deaton this school year. We all appreciate her abundant generosity.

What a performance! Six of RMS's students showcased their acting talent in the Wizard of Oz production at the Martin County Auditorium. We are so proud of their courage and community involvement.
Tim Manning, VP of Manning Masonry, Inc. and alumnus of Martin County Schools, spoke to CTE, Early College, and interested high school students about opportunities within the masonry and construction business. Manning Masonry, Inc. specializes in turn-key construction while delivering quality projects on time and within budget. The company is sponsoring and will attend the College and Career Fair on March 27th.

Rod Lykins of SkillsUSA visited recently with CTE staff for a Q&A regarding the additional SkillsUSA Comps that are being added to Career & Technical Education courses. Teachers also collaborated on an intro activity for classroom use!
Our Battle of the Books team won first place at the district level today!! Many thanks to our administration for their support, to Ms. Horn for making the shirts, PTA for lunch, Mr. James for driving us around and to the parents of our team. Way to go team!

The 6th graders today had a chance to learn about dinosaurs. Scientists from the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences came to our school today to provide an in house field trip through a grant won by Ms. Leggett. The students learned the process of identifying certain species. What fun!

We had special visitors on Read Across America Day. The Cat in the Hat and Dorothy were here to help us celebrate a love for reading.
A shout out to our students who had the courage to perform at last night's black history program, The Undefeated. It was arranged by our 6th grade ELA teacher, Mrs. Brown Hardison. A special thank you to our community leaders as well for attending and accepting certificates for being such wonderful role models in our community.
Students from Ms. Leggett's Social Studies class made story boards of famous African Americans for Mrs. Brown Hardison's Undefeated program. The program was a wonderful way to celebrate Black History.
