RMS students enjoyed signing year books today. It was bittersweet but fun. We wish our eight graders all the best on their journey to high school.

Ms. Deaton's 7th grade Science Class tried their hand at making paper airplanes fly using rubber bands. What a fun way to enhance a lesson on potential and kinetic energy on National Paper Airplane Day.

Ms. McGhee's STEM class and Ms. Moore's Art class had a fun learning experience visiting the Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium. They have been discussing how technology and engineering make it possible for animals/humans to live and thrive in their natural environment. STEM experiences, such as this Field Trip, make science more compelling and relatable.

Riverside Middle School Band entertained us with their end of school year band concert. Director Kim Fay lead the students in a musical night to remember. We are so proud of our musicians.

Summer Feeding Program Information. Let's eat!

Ms. Stalls, Ms. Speller, & Ms. Gorham took their class on a spectacular field trip Wednesday. After reading The Great Treehouse War by Lisa Graff, the students were treated with a trip to see actual treehouses in Windsor. What a treat!

5th graders had a chance to visit RMS today and were treated with a concert given by our RMS Band. We were so excited to welcome them and can't wait to see them in the fall.

Attention rising 6th & 7th graders and their parents!

Heather Arling presented Misty Rushing, principal, and Lisa Bargelt, media coordinator of RMS with a generous donation for the Makerspace/STEM center in the media center. Mr. Rick Hall, manager of Walmart in Williamston gladly approved the donation in honor of teacher appreciation week. Thank you Walmart!!

Misty Hardison, a two time children's book author from eastern North Carolina visited RMS on Monday. She read her new book titled Jake's Friday to Ms. Leggett's sixth grade class and discussed being an author and a lawyer. Ms. Hardison was an inspiration to our students.

We hope you will join us for this very special evening!

High School Cheer Tryouts!

Special Olympics was fun for all! Ms. Stalls' and Ms. Hill's EC classes enjoyed the competitions. Our own Gavin Bynum said the Pledge of Allegiance for the opening ceremony. There was even a petting zoo provided by JoAnn Parnell. It was certainly a day to remember.

Don't forget Dink Mills Night at Barnes Field tomorrow (Tuesday, 4/25)! The celebration begins just before the 6pm game starts.

Students in Mrs. Sha'tori Brown Hardison's class are publishing a book!

Before break Ms. Leggett's class created story boards to show how the Black Plague traveled from Asia to Europe. What a fun and creative way to learn.

Coming soon . . . Spring Break!
