Just a reminder, no outside food can be brought into the cafeteria unless in a lunchbox when eating lunch with your child. This week our 3rd and 4th grade will complete the final NC Checkin in reading and math. 5th graders will take their assessments in reading, math and science next week. Our Family Arts Night will be April 7th beginning at 5:30 pm ending with a PTA meeting at 7pm. This is a family event, therefore parents will need to stay with their children throughout the event. Good afternoon JES! Just a reminder we are having K registration and Pre K Open House today from 3:15-6 pm. PTA still needs a few more volunteers to help with the dance Friday, March 25th 7-9 pm. If you are available you may contact a PTA board member or the main office. Snacks and drinks can be dropped off at the main office or car line. Beginning Monday, March 21st we will welcome parents to eat lunch with their child. Please sign in and receive a visitor’s pass at the office. A special eating area has been set up. Parents may go through the line with their child and order a meal. Please have small bills ($5 or less). Any larger bills the cafeteria will be unable to make change. Also just a reminder, no outside food can be brought into the cafeteria unless in a lunchbox. PTA is sponsoring a school dance Friday, March 25th from 7-9pm. PTA is asking for donations such as individual snacks, candy, bottled water and canned drinks. You may drop off any donations to the main office or in the car line. Attendance is very important to the academic progress of our students. Our instructional day begins at 7:55 am and we dismiss at 3pm. Please let students stay for the entire instructional day. If you need to pick your student up early, make arrangements prior to 2:30 pm. March 23rd JES will have Kindergarten registration from 3-6pm and PreK will host an Open house March 23rd from 3-6 pm. Parents, this is your opportunity to visit the classroom and ask any questions. Help JES raise money through the Kids Heart Challenge program! Please follow the link on our webpage or social media to sign up and for all of the program's information. This online only event ends this Friday, March 25th. DARE graduation for our 5th grade students will be Friday, March 25th at 1 pm in the cafeteria. Save the Date April 7th Arts Night beginning at 5:30pm and PTA meeting at 7pm. We have had a great week at JES! It has been so nice to see all those beautiful smiles. This is a reminder that Parent-teacher conferences are Thursday and Friday with no school for students. JES will have K registration Thursday, March 10 10am-12 & 1-3 pm. Our second opportunity to sign up for kindergarten will be March 23rd 3-6pm. We will also have PreK Open House on March 23rd from 3-6pm to give PreK parent the opportunity to visit the classroom and ask any questions. Thanks for your continued support of JES!

3/6/22 Our school day begins at 7:55 am and we dismiss at 3pm. Students need to be here in time to eat breakfast prior to starting their instructional day. Congratulations to our Battle of the Books team! They came in second place and earned a silver medal at the competition this past week. Special thanks to Mrs. Johnson for coaching this awesome team. This week there will be Parent-teacher conferences on Thursday, March 10th 10 am-7pm and Friday, March 11th 8am-12 noon. Please schedule with your child’s teacher. There will be NO SCHOOL for students on March 10th & 11th. JES will have Kindergarten registration March 10th 10am-12 & 1-3pm and March 23rd from 3-6pm. 1/30/22 Thanks to the families that supported the Bookfair this past week. It was very successful! This week students in grades 3-5 will participate in NC Check-ins. We will begin on Tuesday with 5th grade science; Wednesday ELA and Thursday Math. Please have students at school on time each day. Students participating in the Science fair; Judging will be Thurs Feb 3rd at 1pm. Fourth grade students will participate in NAEP assessments Feb 9th. Updated MCS dress code policy has been posted on our webpage and social media. Please make sure no leggings or yoga pants. If your child is experiencing any symptoms or tests positive, please contact the school nurse or administration prior to sending your child to school. We will continue to work together to keep students, staff and parents safe and healthy. Masks are required for everyone in the buildings and on buses. Guidelines have recently changed. Martin County Schools will operate on a regular schedule for all schools and offices beginning Wednesday, January 26.

Good afternoon JES! Just a reminder that we have Book Fair on campus this week along with fun, Spirit week activities. Wednesday-Wear your team Wed! Thursday-Camo or neon Day! Friday-Book Character Parade Thursday, Jan 27th Parents are welcome to visit the Book Fair with their child from 4-7pm. Our PTA meeting will begin at 7pm. Hope to see everyone there.

Martin County Schools will be closed Friday, January 21 for students and staff.
