JES has had a wonderful and exciting first week of school. Just a few reminders for next week. Monday, September 5th is a holiday and no school for staff and students. Welcome back for the 2022-2023 School Year Tomorrow, Monday, August 29th is our First day of school. Students need to be in class by 7:55 am. Our instructional day runs from 7:55 am-2:50 pm. Students may enter the building at 7:30 am. Bus riders are released at 2:50 pm and car-riders are released at 3 pm. Traffic patterns will remain the same. For our new parents, please line up to drop off students on Hwy 64 Business and then turn right onto Hardison St. Once on campus please follow the traffic and remain in your cars. Students will be dropped off at the front of the school. Students needing to eat breakfast will report directly to the cafeteria. Breakfast and lunch will be provided again to Martin County students at no cost. Extras and additional snacks/ice cream will be priced individually. Once we have snacks and ice cream in place we will notify parents of prices. Students that need to be picked up early need to be picked up prior to 2:30 pm or they will have to wait until the 3 pm dismissal time. We will welcome parents and grandparents to eat lunch with their students beginning in October. More details to follow. Please make sure if students have any symptoms, do not send them to school. Welcome back - 2022-2023 SY Back to School Announcements Kindergarteners and their parents will have Popsicles with the Principal Aug 9th 6-7pm in the JES courtyard. Mrs. Mobley is so excited to meet our new friends! Open House August 25th 4-7 pm; this is a floating event. Mrs. Mobley would like to meet with parents of third grade students at 6 pm in the cafeteria. There is legislation and information specific only to third grade parents and Mrs. Mobley wants to make sure parents are aware of expectations. We would like to share a travel opportunity in our community. Mrs. Amy Barsanti is planning a trip to The Dominican Republic. She is having an information session Thursday, June 2nd at the MCS Innovation Campus in room 101 at 6 pm. The session will discuss travel logistics, how to earn high school/college credit, affordable payment options and so much more. We hope to see you at the meeting. 4/10/22 This is a short week for our students. Friday, April 15th is an Optional teacher work day and no school for students. Students will return to school after Spring break (April 18th-22nd). We will return to school on Monday, April 25th. If you still need to register your child for kindergarten or PreK, please contact the main office. 5th grade will take NC Checkins in reading, math and science this week. Please be on time. Our Family Arts Night was a great success! Special thanks to Mrs. Tammy Jones and JES staff for a wonderful night creating and collaborating.
