JES has had a wonderful and exciting first week of school. Just a few reminders for next week. Monday, September 5th is a holiday and no school for staff and students. Students return to school Tuesday, September 6th. Third grade students will take the Beginning of Grade (BOG) assessment on Wednesday, September 7th. Hope everyone has a restful holiday weekend.

Welcome back for the 2022-2023 School Year Tomorrow, Monday, August 29th is our First day of school. Students need to be in class by 7:55 am. Our instructional day runs from 7:55 am-2:50 pm. Students may enter the building at 7:30 am. Bus riders are released at 2:50 pm and car-riders are released at 3 pm. Traffic patterns will remain the same. For our new parents, please line up to drop off students on Hwy 64 Business and then turn right onto Hardison St. Once on campus please follow the traffic and remain in your cars. Students will be dropped off at the front of the school. Students needing to eat breakfast will report directly to the cafeteria. Breakfast and lunch will be provided again to Martin County students at no cost. Extras and additional snacks/ice cream will be priced individually. Once we have snacks and ice cream in place we will notify parents of prices. Students that need to be picked up early need to be picked up prior to 2:30 pm or they will have to wait until the 3 pm dismissal time. We will welcome parents and grandparents to eat lunch with their students beginning in October. More details to follow. Please make sure if students have any symptoms, do not send them to school. Welcome back - 2022-2023 SY Back to School Announcements Kindergarteners and their parents will have Popsicles with the Principal Aug 9th 6-7pm in the JES courtyard. Mrs. Mobley is so excited to meet our new friends! Open House August 25th 4-7 pm; this is a floating event. Mrs. Mobley would like to meet with parents of third grade students at 6 pm in the cafeteria. There is legislation and information specific only to third grade parents and Mrs. Mobley wants to make sure parents are aware of expectations. This is the last week of school. Students’ last day will be Thursday, June 9th with dismissal at 1pm. Please make sure to return all computers, hot spots and library books. We would like to share a travel opportunity in our community. Mrs. Amy Barsanti is planning a trip to The Dominican Republic. She is having an information session Thursday, June 2nd at the MCS Innovation Campus in room 101 at 6 pm. The session will discuss travel logistics, how to earn high school/college credit, affordable payment options and so much more. We hope to see you at the meeting. Reminder- Math EOG testing tomorrow, June 2 for grades 3-5.

Yearbooks are going fast! Get yours for $25 cash or check made payable to JES. The End Of Grade testing schedule has been posted on social media and our JES webpage. Thanks 5th and 3rd grade parents-Everyone was present and on time for testing! This week Wednesday, June 1st - 4th & 5th Reading; Thursday, June 2nd - 3rd-5th Math; and Friday, June 3rd - 3rd RtA. 4/10/22 This is a short week for our students. Friday, April 15th is an Optional teacher work day and no school for students. Students will return to school after Spring break (April 18th-22nd). We will return to school on Monday, April 25th. If you still need to register your child for kindergarten or PreK, please contact the main office. 5th grade will take NC Checkins in reading, math and science this week. Please be on time. Our Family Arts Night was a great success! Special thanks to Mrs. Tammy Jones and JES staff for a wonderful night creating and collaborating. We would like to invite everyone to JES Family Arts Night tomorrow Thursday, April 7th from 5:30-7pm. This is a family event and children will need to stay with their parents throughout the event. There will be stations set up throughout the school. We will end the night with our last PTA meeting at 7pm. We look forward to seeing everyone!
