Over 50 vendors that included the industries of construction, agriculture, science, technology, broadcasting, healthcare, boatbuilding, public works, masonry, finance, and pest management to college admission specialists and branches of the military were on display for MCS 7th-12th graders. Students were provided an informative presentation by Chief Larry Johnson of the MCC Fire Academy. MCS currently has students enrolled in the Jr. Firefighter and Exploration programs through Williamston Fire/Rescue. Firefighters and Rescue personnel are in need nationally.
Edwards, Inc., an industrial contractor with locations throughout eastern NC, presented their company and career opportunities to students recently. Ms. May, company recruiter, and Mr. Sutton, project manager, provided the information. Edwards, Inc. is also the corporate sponsor of the MCS College and Career Fair on March 27th.
Brendan Mobley, a 2020 MCS graduate employed by Oak Ridge Industries, Inc. (Washington, NC), demonstrates the art of TIG welding to students in Ag Mechanics I & II.
FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) students attended the annual Hospitality Leadership Conference at East Carolina University. These students have career interests in culinary arts, foods and nutrition, as well as the hospitality industry.
5th grade Career Awareness students received an update on the new Martin Innovative Middle School, the opportunities in our CTE program, new middle school CTE course offerings, and the Feb. 6th Better Together event showcasing the new Martin County Schools! No one else around offers what we do. #CTEmonth

Good evening this is Mrs. Mobley with the weekly announcements. Students return to school on Wednesday, January 3rd. Please make sure students have completed their assignments from the Remote Learning Days. JES would like to wish everyone a safe and Happy New Year!
Reminder for parents - Monday, December 18 & Tuesday, December 19 are Remote Learning Days; students do not report to campus. Students will return to school after the Christmas holiday on January 3rd. Assignments are due when students return. Merry Christmas and happy holidays!

MCS H.O.S.A. (Health Occupations Students of America) visited East Carolina University's School of Nursing & School of Dentistry recently. Students were able to obtain specific information about each program, academic requirements, and career opportunities!
MCS Sr. Da'Niyah Pettaway leads and advises students in her Culinary Internship at SCHS. She serves in Foods II class with Mrs. Hale (CTE Foods & Nutrition) as they prepare pizza and shepherd's pie in the culinary kitchen.
