Next week is Red Ribbon Week. On Monday, students can wear red, on Tuesday, students can wear their favorite team jersey or shirt, on Wednesday, students can dress like they are from a different decade, on Thursday students can wear pajamas, and on Friday, students can wear E.J. Greetings Tiger Family, This is your Principal Jason Myers with an important announcement. The PTA will be having a ceremony on Thursday October 21st to honor our students who were on Principal's list or made honor roll for the 1st 6 weeks. Principal list students got all A's. Honor Roll students got all A's and B's. 4th grade ceremony is at 1:00pm. 3rd grade ceremony is at 1:30pm. 5th grade ceremony is at 2:00pm. Parents are welcome to join us. After the ceremony is complete, you will have the option to check your child out of school early. Please park in the parking lot and not in the car pick up line. Please talk to your teacher or call the school if you have any questions. One more reminder: Friday is wear Pink day to honor Breast Cancer Awareness month. The Book Fair is happening this week at Hayes. Monday is Preview day students and parents and can start purchasing books on Tuesday through Thursday from 7:30 to 4:30pm. .From the National Weather Service AREAS OF DENSE FOG ACROSS EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA THIS MORNING...Areas of fog as developed across Eastern North Carolina this morning reducing visibilities to one half mile or less at times. Motorists should remain alert for a rapidly changing visibilities over short distances. When encountering the dense fog, slow down, use low beam headlights, and leave plenty of braking distance between you and the vehicle ahead. Visibilities are expected to improve between 8 and 9 AM as the fog begins to lift and dissipate.
