Day 5 of Teacher and Staff Appreciation was a catered lunch by some of our wonderful parents! They spent all morning preparing this wonderful meal for everyone! We are so appreciative of these ladies for supporting our staff! Thank you so much! Congratulations to Mrs. Griffin and Mr. Clemons for finding a paw print from our staff scavenger hunt. They traded in their paws for a jeans day of their choosing! Today was Field Day! The students, staff, and parents all had a great time! Thank you Coach Tice for such a fun day! Thank you to all the MCS student athletes for helping run games, and to Macedonia volunteers as well! Today is National School Nurse's Day! SCES is blessed with the best school nurse! Mrs. Amy goes above and beyond for everyone! We took time this morning to show how much we love her with a staff and student funnel in our gym, where she received cards, posters, and flowers. Staff and students then shared out things that they love about Mrs. Amy! Thank you for all you do for us! Day 3 of Teacher and Staff Appreciation was provided by the school and sponsored by Deep South Shaved Ice! All staff got a shaved ice of their choice or a snow cream! As part of teacher appreciation we have a scavenger hunt going. Teachers and Staff are on the search for cougar paws hidden around the school. They will exchange their paws once found for various prizes. We have our first winner of the scavenger hunt. Mrs. Nichols has won a KFC/Taco Bell Gift Card. Can't wait to see who else wins and what they win! Last night Mr. Wynne, one of our wonderful 1st grade teachers owned his teacher leadership by conducting a professional learning session for other teachers and staff in the district during our April District Wide PLC event. Way to go Mr. Wynne! Yesterday the students in Mrs. Bennett and Mrs. LaFranque's classes participated in the Martin County Special Games! We even had two students place for ribbons! Congratulations to all students! We had such a wonderful turn out at our annual spring Title I Family Night, Cruisin the Creek. The staff, students, families, and community volunteers all had a great time. We had music, games, and fun. Thank you to Robersonville Fire and EMS, Robersonville Police Department, Martin County Sheriff's Office, Cricket Wireless, Comprehensive Interventions, Boys and Girls Club of the Coastal Plains, and Marvin Hilliard for being a part of our event! ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Tuvimos una asistencia maravillosa en nuestra Noche Familiar anual de Título I de primavera, Cruisin the Creek. Yesterday we announced our Teacher of the Year Classified Employee of the Year! SCES is honored to formally announce our 2025 Teacher of the Year as Mrs. Sara Linkous. Mrs. Linkous is our K-2 EC Resource Teacher. Our 2025 Classified Employee of the Year is Mrs. Deborah Williams. Mrs. Williams's official title is C.A.R.E coordinator, but she serves our school in a wider capacity helping out where ever is needed. Thank you both for all you do for SCES! We are proud of you both! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ayer anunciamos a nuestra Maestra del Año y Empleada Clasificada del Año. Martin County School's newest LETRS cohort completed their 8th and final LETRS professional development training on Friday after an extensive 2-year study on explicit and systematic literacy practices. We thank these teachers for their dedication to growing and learning while teaching their students daily. Thank you to Ellen Mizell, NC DPI Early Literacy Specialist for facilitating these sessions and pouring knowledge into our educators daily.
