Mrs. Smith's kindergarten class had a SPOOK-tacular time celebrating Halloween! 🧡🖤
From dressing up in their adorable costumes to creating friendly skeletons 💀 and carving jack-o'-lanterns 🎃, these little Cubs enjoyed days full of creativity, laughter, and FUN!

🏥📚 Character Trait Surgery in 5th Grade! 🩺✂️
5th grade performed a "character trait surgery" to celebrate the end of Unit 2 entitled Developing Characters' Relationships.
🩺 Day 1 – Pre-Op: The first day was "pre-op" and students worked in teams to re-read sections of the unit to write what the character was thinking, feeling, saying and doing. They also "prepped" their character for surgery by drawing him.
🏥 Day 2 – Surgery Day: The second day was surgery day! Students entered the "operating room", dressed for the part and began to construct their character's head, heart, mouth, arms and legs with evidence of traits from the text.

Our visitors got to see just how un-BEE-lievable Rodgers Elementary is, make a spooky ghost sucker 👻, and grab some sweet treats! 🍬
And the FUN isn't over yet! Our Cubs who visited us last night will be treated to a special FUN LUNCH on Friday as a thank-you for coming out and showing their Rodgers pride! 🎉🐻 We LOVE our Rodgers family! 💙🐝

Our 5th graders took a trip back to colonial times as they explored what life was like in the Southern Colonies! ⏳
Working with partners, students moved around the classroom reading task cards, discussing what they learned, and answering questions to discover just how DIFFERENT colonial life was from life today!
We LOVE seeing our students collaborating, thinking critically, and bringing history to life! ❤️👏
