Weekly Announcements: August 24th - 28th

- This week, our 4th grade students have been scheduled to come to school to take their beginning of the year iReady Reading Diagnostic. Please be sure that your child brings their headphones and mask when they come to school. All social distancing protocols will be followed. Parents will need to pull into the car rider line. A staff member will come to your car to screen your child and take their temperature. Testing should last approximately 1 hour. If you have forgotten your child's testing day or time, please contact Ms. Hart or Mrs. Troop. 4th grade students should wait until their testing day at school to take their iReady assessment, this may not be taken at home.
- This week the iReady Math Diagnostic will open for all K-5 students and the iReady Reading Diagnostic will open for K-3 students and 5th grades to take at home.  It is very important that you do not help your child with this assessment. We suggest having your child work on the diagnostic for no more than 30 minutes at a time.  This diagnostic will not count as a grade, but will help your child's teacher know what specific skill areas they need to focus on during their small group google meets. Again, we ask that you please allow your child to complete this independently to ensure they are not given skills that will be too difficult for them.
- Our STAR testing window will also open this week for students in first - fifth grades.  Again, we ask that you do not help your child with this assessment.  It is very important that we have accurate information.  Like iready, this will not count as a grade.
- All assignments for this week have been posted in your child's google classroom. Per district requirements, all assignments will post on the Friday afternoon prior to the week's assignments.  All of this week's assignments will be due by midnight on August 30th.
- This week, we will open our multipurpose room from 4pm to 7pm for families that do not have internet access at home or families that need technical support. If you would like to come out on Tuesday between 4 and 7, please call the office no later than 3pm on Monday to schedule an appointment.  If you would like to come on Thursday between 4 and 7, please schedule your appointment by 3pm on Wednesday.  You must have a scheduled appointment, as we do have limited space available. To enter, you will be asked the screening questions and have your temperature taken. We will adhere to social distancing guidelines at all times.  We ask that no more than 3 people per family attend.  Please note that this is time to get technical assistance, download materials, upload materials, or work on iReady.  We are unable to provide any direct instruction or curriculum assistance at this time.
-  Our summer feeding program will continue through August 31st.  Any child under the age of 18 may pick-up a meal at RES from 11:00 - 12:30 daily.

- Please do not hesitate to contact the school or your child's teacher if you have questions or concerns.  Our staff does work from school each day.  Our office hours are Monday - Friday from 8am to 4pm.
We miss our students and hope to see them soon!  At RES, we are Learning Today...Leading Tomorrow.
