August 16th - 21st

- This week, our students will begin virtual learning.  The current plan is to have remote instruction for the first 9 weeks.  The board of education will meet after approximately 6 weeks to determine if we will continue with remote instruction or if we will return to in-person instruction.
- Our in-person and virtual orientations will continue this week.  You should hear from your child's teacher no later than Tuesday to schedule an orientation.  Kindergarten parents are reminded that you must submit all paperwork before your child will be placed in a class.
- RES Office Hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm daily.
- Please be sure to have your child log-in to their goggle classroom on Monday to begin completing assignments. This week's assignments will all be due by midnight on Sunday, August 23rd.
- 3rd & 4th grade students will be scheduled to come to Rodgers during the week of August 24th to complete the beginning of the year Reading assessments.
- The iReady diagnostic in Math (for students in all grades) and the iReady diagnostic in Reading (for students in K, 1, 2, 3, 5) will open on August 19th.  Please be sure that you allow your student to complete this assessment completely independently. The iReady program will provide students assignments based on their assessment.  If you assist your child, it may result in them having assignments that are too difficult for them to complete on their own. We recommend that you have your child work on the assessments for no more than 30 minutes at a time and that you allow several days for the assessment to be completed.
- Our summer feeding program will continue through August 31st.  Any child under the age of 18 may pick-up a meal at RES from 11:00 - 12:30 daily.
- Our school does participate in the Box Tops for Education program.  Please download the app and scan your receipts to help our school.
- Lastly, Mrs. Haislip has asked that you begin collecting your can tabs to support the Ronald McDonald House.
We are excited to begin instruction tomorrow and look forward to working with you and your child this year.  Please don't hesitate to contact your child's teacher with questions and concerns. At RES we are Learning Today....Leading Tomorrow!
