Another wonderful show of school spirit today!

Students in grades 5-11 AND their parents; Don't forget the FALL INTO CTE event this Thursday, October 26th, from 5:30-7:30 at the Innovation Campus, home of the Innovative Early College and Career & Technical Education (CTE). Spirit Week continued today with Twin Day. Boy did we have a lot of twins today. Who's got spirit? RMS does that's for sure!!!










Today was our start to a fun Spirit Week. We had teachers dress as students and students dress as teachers today. We had the spirit! Can't wait to see what twin day tomorrow brings.

Mr. Alvin Frazier, Recruiter from Pitt Community College, speaks to CTE students about options and pathways at PCC, especially their Construction & Industrial Technology program. Students asked questions and received first-hand information about PCC. #MCSisstudentcentered #MCSCTE

"Fall into CTE" Program hosted at the Innovation Campus, home of the Martin Innovative Early College and Career and Technical Education programs, Thursday Oct. 26th from 5:30-7:30. Come see all the course offerings for students in CTE! 5th Grade -11th grade MCS students welcome!

Don't forget tomorrow RMS will be having a vision screening for all 8th graders. If you are prescribed glasses or contacts be sure and wear them during the screening.

Our 7th grade teachers united and wore their orange today to show support for Unity Day. It's all about kindness, acceptance, inclusion and community. Stand up against bullying!

Students in Mrs. Revels's Health Science CTE class produced informative brochures regarding skin conditions, disorders, and treatment. The lesson provided great insight into the integumentary system. Students learned about the many intricate functions the system performs.

Ms. Hoggard's Career and Technical Education classes virtually visited various types of forests around the world. The students have been learning about the importance, impact, and benefit of trees on people and the environment. Science careers, here we come!





Ms. Daniel's 7th grade math class is learning about unit rates. Today, they worked in groups to find the calories per ounce of various drinks or food items. This allowed them to compare their findings and see which is the healthier choice.




In conjunction with Fire Prevention Week, Chief Michael Peaks of Williamston Fire & Rescue and Martin Community College Fire Training Program Director, Chief Larry Johnson, visited the Innovation Campus to deliver information regarding work-based learning, skill development, career opportunities, scholarships, and more! Students were able to obtain information about the Williamston Fire/Rescue Junior Firefighter Program for 9th & 10th graders and the High School Fire Academy for 11th and 12th graders. These are great programs that have current, future, and possible lifelong positive impacts. Whether it is gaining education and certifications, getting an associate degree in Public Safety Administration from MCC, serving the community, or pursuing a career in Emergency Management, the Junior Firefighter and the High School Fire Academy can put a student on the path of success.
