Good evening South Creek and Riverside HS families. This Mr. Mizelle with your weekly reminders. Any student who did not get their report card for Quarter 3 can pick it up in the front office at RHS. Please see Ms. Keyes if you have questions. The Martin County Board of Education has amended the dress code policy to include no pajama pants or shirts. This means that these items are NOT allowed to be worn on campus. All 12th graders needing help with the FAFSA process need to contact Ms. James. College, military, and workforce decision day is right around the corner on May 10. Any SCHS 12th grader who signed up for the cap/gown picture is reminded that the day is April 18. Also, anyone who needs to pick up their cap/gown needs to see Ms. Wynn. Attention all 12th graders: The final chance to have a cap/gown picture is May 16. You must sign up in advance with Mr. Griffin by May 3. There is a $10 fee due at the time of the session. There will be a band parent meeting in the band room at RHS on April 15 at 6 pm. The JROTC will also host a blood drive in the auditorium lobby on May 3rd. Students ages 16 or 17 will need a signed permission form before donating blood. Everyone is required to have a photo ID on the day of the event. Please contact Capt. McDade for more information. There will be a 12th grade awards night for all RHS 12th graders on May 16 at 6 pm. SCHS will host their 12th grade awards ceremony on May 24 at 9 AM. RHS/SCHS underclassman awards will be May 24 from 9:30 AM to 11 AM. All events will take place in the RHS auditorium. Please remind all students that they are responsible for all of their personal belongings on campus. There will be a health science career exploration camp on July 15 and 16 for rising 10th graders at the IC. Please see your counselor to sign up or contact Ms. Christenberry at the IC. May 28 will be the winter/spring athletic awards night at 6 pm in the auditorium. There will be an 11th grade student/parent night on May 20 in the RHS media center. This will be an informative session about 11th graders becoming 12th graders. On April 16 before the softball game starts at 6 pm there will be a bench dedication ceremony for the late Coach Herbie Rogers. All are welcome to attend. Counselors are wrapping up registration for next year with all students. Please make sure you have talked to your child about their college/career pathways. Martin County FFA members Peyton Rogers and Reagan Cowan's hard work paid off this past Thursday at the Martin County 4-H Livestock Show and Sale. They have been caring for and preparing their goats, Kodak Black and Willie Nelson for more than three months. Peyton Rogers and her goat, Willie Nelson, were crowned Senior Champion Showman and Reserve Medium Weight Market Goat Champion. Reagan Cowan and her goat, Kodak Black, were crowned Senior Reserve Champion Showman and Champion Medium Weight Market Goat Champion. "This was a new adventure for Martin County FFA and to come out on top just made it all worth the challenge", said FFA Advisor Miss Patterson. The girls are already planning for next year's show.

A reminder to anyone who purchased a prom ticket that the event is on April 13 and it will be held at the Roanoke Country Club located at 1380 Fairway Dr. in Williamston. The grand march will be at the RHS auditorium. Any student needing a prom dress can talk to Nurse Spence or Ms. McCombs to set up a time to look at the dresses in the prom closet on campus. Don’t forget about our math tutoring after school on Tues./Thurs. Until 4:15 pm. You must have transportation home. All 12th graders needing help with the FAFSA process need to contact Ms. James. Please see Mr. Smith if you are interested in taking this class. A special shoutout to our FCCLA club led by Ms. Joyner. They received multiple awards at this year FCCLA NC competition. Also, a special out to our Robotics team on competing for the first time at the state level. Remind students that they need to get breakfast and go directly to their 1st block class. Students are reminded that they have 4 minutes between all blocks to get to class. There is a SIT meeting on April 8 in the RHS media center after school.
