The Martin County High School Cross Country Team tackled the 3A East Regional course at the Lenoir County Fairgrounds on Friday, October 24 — and they showed up big!
Four runners are moving on to the State Meet in Kernersville next Friday:
⭐ Ethan Copeland – 18:26.74 (Season Best) – 9th Place & All-Regional Team!
⭐ Hector Pedraza – 20:07.43 (Season Best/PR)
⭐ Katibeth Speller – 25:33.04 (3rd Best Time of the Season)
⭐ Maite Rodriguez – 26:29.57 (Season Best/PR)
Other strong finishes:
💪 Alex Lee – 25:12.71 (2nd Best Time of the Season, 2:43 faster than last year’s regional!)
💪 Geidy Felix Mendez – 28:59.61 (Season Best)
💪 Ariana Howard – 34:06.16 (2nd Best Time of the Season)
💪 Ezzurie Williams – 3rd Best Time of the Season

🎉🏈 Big Gator Victory! 🏈🎉
What a night at the Martin County High School Homecoming game! The Gators took down the Currituck Knights 35–29, and what a fight it was.
From the kickoff to the final countdown, our team showed heart, hustle, and hometown pride. Thank you to all the fans, families, and students who turned out — your energy made the difference.

After the meet at Hertford County was cancelled on October 8th, the Martin County High School Cross Country Team accepted an invitation to compete at North Pitt’s 4A Conference Meet — and they made the most of the opportunity!
🌟 Several runners achieved season best times, including:
Jamarian Croom (PR)
Alex Lee
Katibeth Speller – 1st place among female runners! 🥇
Maite Rodriguez (PR)
Geidy Felix Mendez
Ariana Howard
Katibeth Speller was the fastest female runner overall, and Ethan Copeland finished with the fourth fastest boys’ time. 👏
On Wednesday, October 15th, the team competed at the NCC Championship Meet in Currituck, where the boys’ team placed 4th and the girls’ team earned 3rd place! 🎉
Both Ethan Copeland and Katibeth Speller were named to the All-Conference Second Team. 🏅
