These are the announcements for the  Week of September 12:

  • Seniors, Jostens will be on campus on Tuesday Sept. 13th during all lunches for orders if you are not ordering online. If ordering any items, a $50 deposit is required at time the order is made.
  • Juniors, Jostens will be on campus Tuesday Sept. 13th during all lunches for class ring orders. Remember, if you want the special discounts, please see the representative on Tuesday.
  • Boys Basketball interest meeting during Knight Lunch A on Thursday Sept 15th.   Anyone in Boys BB sign up to attend.    This includes anyone currently playing a Fall sport also.    Workout schedule, Final Forms, Etc will be discussed.   Email rwilliams@martin.k12.nc.us with questions.
  • Senior t-shirts will go on sale beginning Wednesday, August 31.  Please see Mr. Hollis in room 011.  The price will be $20 for sizes S-XL; 2XL is $22.00; 3XL is $24.00; 4XL is $26.00.  Seniors have until September 26 to pay.  Please bring exact change or check before 1:30 pm.
  • Seniors are reminded that they must show proof of the mandatory meningococcal vaccine booster within the first 30 days of school.  (You received the first one in 7th grade)  Deadline for turning in documentation is 9/29.  You will be unable to attend school after this day without documentation.  Call your primary care provider or health department for an appointment.  Please bring a copy of your immunization record to Tami Spence, School Nurse.
  • The 1 time Senior fees are currently $75 & are payable to Mr. Delph each day by 1:30 pm. This fee covers the cost of your cap & gown unit, as well as other graduation expenses. Fees will increase by $10 at the end of October to $85. 
  • Seniors are reminded to accept the invitation to the Senior Google Classroom to stay up to date with important Senior information. Also, make sure that you complete the CPR training & complete the information for your Cap & Gown measurements as soon as possible.
  • Homecoming t-shirts will go on sale beginning on Wednesday, August 31, through September 26.  Please see Mr. Hollis in room 011.  The price will be $20 for sizes S-XL; 2XL is $22.00; 3XL is $24.00; 4XL is $26.00.  Please bring exact change or check before 1:30 pm.
  • Registration for the September 19th-October 3rd drivers education classes  will take place at Riverside High School  on September 12th and September 13th from 3:30-4:15 in the auditorium lobby. Class time will be from 3:30-6:30 each day. The cost of driver education class is 65 dollars. Students need to be born on or before March 2008 to take this class.  Any questions about Driver Education email amcgill@martin.k12.nc.us. 
  • Any student wishing to run for Class Officer of their respective grade group needs to fill out the RHS SGA Class Officer Nomination Form that has been shared with all RHS students.  Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA and no discipline infractions during the current school year.  The Nomination Form was shared with students on Wednesday, September 7, and nominations will end on Tuesday, September 13. Please see Mr. Hollis if you have any questions.  
  • Nominations will be accepted from Wednesday, September 7, through Tuesday, September 13.  If you have any questions, contact Mr. Hollis in room 011.
  • A new elective has opened up at the Innovation Campus, Foundations of Health Sciences, during 4th period, 1st semester. This class is an introduction to health sciences and health careers and is especially helpful if a student wants to pursue a career in healthcare (CNA, Nurse, Doctor, Sonographer, Phlebotomist, X-Ray Technician, etc.). If a student is interested in taking this class AND has already completed his/her drop/add form, they should send their counselor an email.   • There will be a Senior Parent Information Night on Tuesday, September 27th in the RHS Media Center @ 6pm. Parents & students are encouraged to come out to learn more about the steps to your child’s post-secondary plans, and also get an overview on the Residency Determination Service & the FAFSA. There will be gift card giveaways & refreshments served as well. If you have any questions, please email the College Adviser, Ms. James at rfjames@martin.k12.nc.us. Hope to see you there!
  • Students who have MCC courses or NCVPS courses must either report to the Media Center during your class or you must leave campus.  Students are not allowed to hang out in the gym or other teachers' classrooms.
