MCS Odyssey of the Mind
Mrs. Frye is utilizing the Outdoor Classroom and Pollination Garden during PAWS Up and Accelerate time to spark student interest in real-world learning. This daily collaboration with resource teachers provides hands-on experiences, connecting nature to academic growth and helping students see how learning happens beyond the classroom.
Our talented students have been hard at work in art class, creating their very own “folklore animals”! Inspired by stories from around the world, these imaginative creatures are brought to life through colorful artwork and creative writing. Each student has crafted a unique animal, complete with a backstory that showcases their creativity! We are so proud of our young artists and the magic of their imaginations!
Exciting things are happening in STEAM with Mrs. Ellis! Our 4th-grade students are diving into the world of creativity by learning how to design block and bubble letters. This fun and engaging activity helps build fine motor skills, encourages self-expression, and adds an artistic flair to their projects. We can't wait to see their amazing designs!

Our 3rd graders in Mrs. Daniels' class are diving into the world of numbers with an exciting hands-on tool—the abacus! 🧮 This ancient device is helping our students strengthen their mental math skills in a fun and interactive way. By using the abacus, students are not only mastering arithmetic but also fostering critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. It's amazing to see their confidence grow as they explore new ways to approach math! Keep up the great work, mathematicians!

Mrs. Garcia's fifth-grade math class is an excellent example of hands-on learning. Students use cubes to build prisms, which helps them understand volume by physically manipulating shapes. This interactive activity teaches volume and enhances spatial reasoning and critical thinking skills. It's an effective way to make math concepts more concrete and accessible. Supporting innovative teaching methods can significantly engage students and improve their learning experiences.

MCS is building programs and pathways as the 2024-25 school year begins. Current construction is for the Spring Horticulture and Hydroponics program! Students are already enjoying the new Core Construction, Health Science Career Labs, and Natural Resource courses.
