Martin County Schools will be closed Friday, January 21 for students and staff.

If you requested a computer through ECF, please stop by E.J. Hayes till 4:00pm today or any day after school to pick the device up. Parent/guardian must come to the school to get hotspot/device and to sign paperwork.

Please check out our Smore newsletter which is shared on Friday for information about what is happening at E.J. Hayes, to access the monthly lunch menus and to recognize our teacher of the month. There is no school tomorrow which is Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Tuesday which is a teacher workday. Students return to school on Wednesday January 19th. Please continue to help us by keeping students home if they have any flu or cold symptoms. Testing is also available at the school for students and teachers who develop symptoms. If you signed a sheet for your family to receive a computer and a hotspot, please stop by the schoolhouse on Tuesday January 18th between 9 and 2 to pick up your devices and sign a contract. We would like to recognize a true Hero from E.J. Hayes. Mrs. Mary Gwen Griffin, school nurse extraordinaire, who keeps us safe and fixes us when we are broken. Not all Heroes wear Capes!

Greetings Tiger Family, This is your Principal Jason Myers with an important reminder. Tomorrow is the last day for students for the week. Friday January 14 and Tuesday January 17 are no school days for students. Monday is Martin Luther King Day and is also a No School day for students. Tomorrow is also the last day of the 3rd semester. In celebration of this, tomorrow is a spirit day for students and staff. Students can wear spirit wear alongside their uniform bottoms like they usually do on Fridays. The 3rd six weeks will end this Wednesday and report cards will go out the following week. Friday January 14th is a No school day for students. E J Hayes and all Martin county schools will be on a 2 hour delay on Tuesday Morning due to the threat of icy conditions. Please be safe!


Martin County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay for students on Tuesday, January 4. Staff should report on their regular schedule as long as travel conditions allow them to do so safely.

Please help us by keeping students home and getting them tested for Covid if they have any symptoms including but not limited to fever, headaches, loss of taste or smell, and/or flu like symptoms. Please also remind your children that masks must be worn completely covering their mouths and nose at all times unless they are outside or eating or drinking. Students who wear masks properly are less likely to be sent home due to exposure. We want to do our very best to keep every child and staff member as safe as possible.
