Teachers were not the only ones making use of Friday’s teacher workday.
Thomas Barber, Child Nutrition Director, brought Child Nutrition Team members together from across the district for training and updates at the Riverside High School cafeteria.
“When you are dealing with our kids in Martin County Schools, you are never doing too much,” Barber said in reference to food safety.
Topics covered included daily responsibilities such as inventory, cleaning, cooler monitoring, time-temperature controls for safety and safe sanitizing.
Barber, who took over the Child Nutrition Director position in the fall of 2021, also brought the team up to speed on areas they are working to streamline across the district in an effort to always improve processes.
