Good afternoon JES! Back to School Information and Updates
We will welcome students beginning at 7:30 am Monday, August 23rd. Students need to be in class prior to 7:55 am. Bus riders will dismiss at 2:50 pm and car riders at 3:00 pm. We ask for parents and students to stay in their vehicles and only drop off and pick up in our designated areas. Follow the one line traffic for drop off and pick up. The traffic pattern is the same as last year with car riders entering campus from Main Street and turning onto Hardison Drive. Staff will get students in and out of the car. For safety reasons, please have the students exit the vehicle on the passenger side of the car (right side). We would like to avoid getting out into the parking lot and crossing in front of vehicles.
Kindergarten parents have been told the staggered entry schedule by their teachers and the procedures for first day activities. Students in 1st-5th will be dropped off in the car line and transition to their classroom for breakfast. Teachers and support staff will be available to get students to class.
At this time, we are not taking attestation forms or student temperatures in the morning for school or the bus. Students and staff are required to wear masks in the building. Masks may be removed outside and while students and staff are drinking and eating. In the cafeteria, students will be spaced out since student masks will be down to eat. Students will still be able to socialize with their peers. Masks are required at all times on the bus. Students refusing to wear masks on the bus may be removed. Extra masks are available with the bus drivers.
We are following the MCS dress code policy. JES school color is red. Students in grades K-5th are welcome to wear any solid colored polo shirt with khaki, blue or black bottoms. No leggings.
