
The 2025-2026 Martin Innovative Early College Application is now open for all Martin County 8th graders to ! Please note there are two ways to access the application. Deadline is January 18, 2025.


The Edwards Company, an industrial contractor that provides full-service fabrication, crane & rigging, piping, mechanical, electrical, plant maintenance, and ASME Code and repair, visited with CTE students recently. Mr. Bobby Sutton, project manager, and Mrs. Kaleigh May, Company Recruiter, provided information to students about the company and opportunities for employment. Edwards Company is also the corporate sponsor of the MCS Career & College Fair.


JROTC Department are hosting a coat drive December 2 - 16th. Help keep a kid warm this winter. We are accepting coats new or gently used, scarfs, and hats; all sizes are welcomed. All donations will be given to the Martin County Social Services Child Welfare. Donations boxes will be placed at the front office, cafeteria, 900 building, and the Innovation Campus. Your support is appreciated.


Some of our MIECP Juniors toured Elizabeth City State University to explore the campus and learn about educational opportunities. There may be some future Vikings in the mix! We had an awesome experience...thank you ECSU!

Students in Mrs. Hoggard's Honors American History Class had WWII Sphero battles today! Students were assigned to either the Axis Powers or Allied Powers then researched 6 battles of WWII. Students used maps of either the Pacific Theater or European Theater to program their sphero to battle each other with facts about the battles. Students learned about history and coded robots to battle it out! What an engaging way to learn!!






Today was Wester Wednesday! As a 31 year cancer survivor, Mr. Wester sports a mustache in the month of November to bring awareness to those around him. In honor of Mr. Wester our staff showed today up in purple and wore mustaches to support his cause!

Today our MIECP freshmen visited Martin Community College to explore their program offerings in an effort to guide them in making pathway decisions. Students were introduced to areas such as welding, cosmetology, HVAC, healthcare, and more! They interacted with professors, explored labs and gained valuable information on possible future careers. Monday 11/18 is a big night for MCS Curriculum and Career & Technical Education for high school students and families! Come out to see core courses, instruction techniques, and ALL departments of CTE. Ask questions, see course offerings and pathways, and plan for your future! Doors open at 5:30 and sessions begin at 6pm at the Innovation Campus. We look forward to seeing YOU!






MCS CTE has gained another partner to help grow our homegrown talent and provide awareness for manufacturing jobs in the county. Flagstone Foods, Inc. (Robersonville, NC) is creating a Career Day for interested MCHS seniors to tour the plant and debrief about employment options.


MCS CTE Ag programs are taking it up a notch! Brent Jennings, NC Coopertative Extension Animal Science Associate speaks to students enrolled in Animals Science I about livestock market trends, food processing, and careers in Food & Animal Sciences.
Riverside Middle School's Ag and Natural Resources program received its greenhouse for expanding the Hydroponics & Plant Pathology program.

The 900 Building is buzzing with work and projects from the Family & Consumer Sciences Department. In Foods & Nutrition, students produced the 9 essential amino acids chain while those in Counseling and Mental Health discussed communication best practices while building with partners.
