We Are Ready for a Great Week

EJH is excited to kick off another week of school and learning! Our students are growing, our teachers are prepared, and we are looking forward to all of the learning, kindness, and success that this week will bring. Thank you for partnering with us to make every day count.

Positive Behavior = Rewards

Students who earn 40 stars by Friday will get to enjoy a 20 Minute Recess Reward. As we get back into our school routine, it is very important that students take learning seriously and show respect to all staff. Repeated disruptions that take away from teaching and learning will lead to consequences, which may include suspension. Please see the MCS K–5 Elementary Handbook for details on behavior expectations and consequences.

Grades Matter

Report cards and progress reports show how students are mastering grade-level work in reading, math, science, and social studies. Students with IEPs will also receive updates on their goals to give an accurate picture of their progress. Together, this shows how well students are applying what they are learning during the 2025–2026 school year.

Start With Hello: A Week of Celebration for Kindness and Inclusion

Monday, September 15 “Meet-N-Greet”: Students will wear name tags with the phrase “Ask me about…” to spark conversations and help make new connections.

Tuesday, September 16 “Upstander”: Students will recognize classmates who take action to make our school safer and more inclusive.

Wednesday, September 17 “Wear Green”: It’s a GREEN OUT! Students and staff wear green as a sign of unity, inclusivity, and solidarity with Sandy Hook Promise.

Thursday, September 18 “Trusted Adult”: Staff members will join classes for lunch, sitting with students they may not normally see each day to build stronger relationships.

Friday, September 19 “Know Your Classmates”: Students will spend time asking thoughtful questions to get to know their peers better.

Reminders

Return the signed Technology Agreement to your child’s teacher. Without this, your child will not be able to access the learning materials provided.

The $25.00 technology fee is due. Students may not bring devices home until this fee is paid.
