Today students in Mrs. Hoggard's Honors American History class expored a simulated Civil War battlefield using Virtual Reality goggles. Students were able to "walk" through this site and examine how both sides in the war built defensive forts, kinds of weapons used, life of soldiers, and important information from historic documents. One student said "but it's in cursive!" Historians will tell you being able to read cursive handwriting comes in handy. When asked if they wanted to use VR goggles again students replied "YES!" We had a great time in this unique learning environment. Shout out to MCS Technology Department for getting us these these VR goggles for our school. Our students are excited about using VR technology to enhance their learning experiences.
