Good evening South Creek and Riverside HS families. This Mr. Mizelle with your weekly reminders.

A reminder to anyone who purchased a prom ticket that the event is on April 13 and it will be held at the Roanoke Country Club located at 1380 Fairway Dr. in Williamston. The grand march will be at the RHS auditorium. Any student needing a prom dress can talk to Nurse Spence or Ms. McCombs to set up a time to look at the dresses in the prom closet on campus.

Don’t forget about our math tutoring after school on Tues./Thurs. Until 4:15 pm. You must have transportation home.

All 12th graders needing help with the FAFSA process need to contact Ms. James. She can also help students with scholarships and grants that are available. College, military, and workforce decision day is right around the corner on May 10.

Any SCHS senior who has not ordered their cap/gown needs to do so ASAP. If you have questions about the process, please see or contact Ms. Wynn. Cap and gown pictures for all SCHS 12th graders who have their cap/gown will be on April 18. Sign up sheets will be emailed this week and students must sign up to reserve their seat and time. You must sign up by Friday April 12. There is also a $10 seating fee for every participant due at the time of photo.

The JROTC will also host a blood drive in the auditorium lobby on May 3rd.

There will be a 12th grade awards night for all RHS 12th graders on May 16 in the RHS auditorium at 6 pm. SCHS will host their awards ceremony on May 24 during the school day in the RHS auditorium. More details will be forthcoming.

This is a reminder that NO Door Dashing or GrubHub allowed during the school day.

There will be an 11th grade student/parent night on May 20 in the RHS media center. This will be an informative session about 11th graders becoming 12th graders.

Counselors are in the process of having meetings with all 9, 10, and 11 grade students for Fall semester classes. A google form was sent from the school counselors to all children via email. Please start having conversations with your child about their graduation pathways. Also, remind your student to check their email DAILY.

Martin County Community College classes are being registered for the fall now for rising 11th and 12th graders. Please see Mr. Smith if you are interested in taking this class.

A special shoutout to our FCCLA club led by Ms. Joyner. They received multiple awards at this year FCCLA NC competition. Also, a special out to our Robotics team on competing for the first time at the state level.

Remind students that they need to get breakfast and go directly to their 1st block class. Students are reminded that they have 4 minutes between all blocks to get to class.

There is a SIT meeting on April 8 in the RHS media center after school.

We hope that you had a restful Spring Break and look forward to seeing our students back at school on April 8.
