E.J. Hayes Elementary staff kicked off the 2026–2027 school year with energy, teamwork, and plenty of Tiger pride at Martin County Schools’ annual Convocation on Monday.
Embracing this year’s theme, “Building with Purpose,” the EJH team stood out in neon construction vests and green and gold pom-poms, bringing school spirit and enthusiasm throughout the afternoon.
Convocation featured a variety of activities, including Minute-to-Win-It challenges, a balloon-and-cup stacking challenge, the Human Cup Challenge, and Top 10 presentations from each school. Principal Howard also presented E.J. Hayes’ toolbox, featuring tools that represent the work ahead: building relationships, raising expectations, solving problems, measuring growth, putting plans into action, and cutting what isn’t working.
The EJH team gave every challenge their best effort while cheering one another on and proudly representing Tiger Nation.
As schools across the district compete for points throughout the year, E.J. Hayes is excited to see which school will ultimately win the Battle for the Paddle!
For the Tigers, the message is clear: the foundation is laid, the tools are ready, and it’s time to build. New Team. New Tools. New Trajectory.
