E.J. Hayes Elementary

The 5th grade students participated in a hands-on STEAM event. BETABOX, a STEAM based corporation visited EJ Hayes today. Students were given materials and the basic design instructions; however the students were allowed to individualize their rocket by colors, stickers, drawings, as well as the size and shape of the wings at the base of the rocket.. Once everyone had created their rocket, they moved over to the launch pad. The rockets were launched two at a time. Before each launching, the student engaged in a hearty and loud count down before watching the rockets zoom forward into the sky. Everyone had an enjoyable and learning experience.
