Maggie White

Maggie White has been named a full-time assistant principal for E.J. Hayes Elementary School. The Martin County Board of Education approved her position during the May 19 meeting, and it will officially begin on August 15.

She served as a principal intern at E.J. Hayes Elementary School during the 2024-2025 school year while attending East Carolina University’s Pirate Leadership Academy, which is designed to prepare effective principals from Eastern North Carolina.

“Maggie strengthened her skills in classroom management and effective leadership as a Science teacher at South Creek Middle School,” said Dr. Michelle White, Superintendent. “It’s been a pleasure to see her expand those skills to a school-wide level, and we are excited to see the tremendous impact she will have on the students and staff of EJ Hayes Elementary.”

Maggie White holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Elizabeth City State University (2015) and completed her Master’s in School Administration earlier this May.

Her North Carolina Professional Educator’s License is in both Middle School and High School Science.
