Martin County Schools was recently awarded two safety grants by the NC Department of
Public Instruction. The first grant awarded MCS about $130,000 to place additional school
resource officers in each elementary school. This will allow every MCS school to have a
full-time resource officer on campus. The second grant awarded MCS about $31,000 to
purchase classroom safety equipment. Thanks to Mr. Clay Wagner, Student Services Director,
for his hard work in writing and submitting these grants. These grant funds will go a long way
towards making our safe schools even safer!
