Martin County Schools announces new chapters in district leadership

Williamston – Martin County Schools is closing in on the final days of the historic 2020-2021 school year with the day for students coming up on June 3.

Dr. David Fonseca, Superintendent, sent his appreciation to all staff members Friday afternoon.
“Please join me in congratulating everyone in Martin County Schools who has reached that time in their own personal way and career to be able to retire.  On behalf of the Board, our more than 2,700 students and families and all your colleagues and friends here in Martin County Schools, we say congratulations and thank you for your service.” 

The current group of retirees has a total of 312 years of service to their credit.

Dr. Fonseca also announced changes in administrative leadership which will go into effect July 1.

Rana Beach, the current principal of South Creek Elementary School, will become Director of Testing and Analytics for the district. 

Nancy Greene, who has served as principal at Williamston Primary School, will transition to South Creek Elementary School as their principal.

Brandon Howard will transition from Riverside Middle School where he is currently principal to take the same role at Williamston Primary School.

Misty Rushing, currently principal of E.J. Hayes Elementary School, will now serve as principal at Riverside Middle School. 

A vacancy has been posted for the principal position at E.J. Hayes Elementary School.
