It was Battle of the Books Day for our elementary school teams across Martin County Schools. Teams have been working hard with their coaches, and it was Rodgers Elementary School that came away with the win today.
Led by Mary Sauls, Coach, the Rodgers Battle of the Books team: Akash Chawla, Liam Green, Sarah Scott Uzzell, and Hatteras Vinson took top honors.
Idris Dickerson, Holden Hardison, Savannah Hassell, Stella Holliday, Alex Rinehart, and Braelyn Whitley - under the direction of Jessica Dickerson, Coach - went back home with second place.
Coach Joann Wall and her assistant, Vertica Chawla, led the E.J. Hayes Elementary School team into competition. Layla Harris, Nyla Johnson, Morgan Keel, Marissa Keel, and Yocelin Quintanilla brought third place back to their school.
The South Creek Elementary School Battle of the Books Team took Honorable Mention. Melanie Garcia, Marleigh Garren, Leighanna Hunter, Saleem Parker, Aria Roberson, Senea Weathersbe, Makayla Williams, and Aylena Woods worked with Coach Candice Howard and Phyllis Parker.
Congratulations to all our teams who participated today. We are so proud of each and every one who put in the work and made preparation a priority. Keep up the great work!
Thank you to our coaches, assistants, and event organizers for once again going above and beyond for our students. Each of you are examples of how Martin Offers More!
