Brantley

Veteran educator Suzanne Brantley has been named the next principal of Riverside Middle School. The announcement came following the June 2 meeting of the Martin County Board of Education.

Brantley comes to Martin County from Beaufort County Schools, where over the past 23 years she served the district as a teacher, worked in curriculum and instruction, and held roles as an assistant principal and principal.

“I am honored to join Riverside Middle School as the new principal, bringing 32 years of experience in education,” Brantley stated. “I believe that every student deserves a rigorous, high-quality education in a loving and caring environment.”

A native of Saratoga, North Carolina, Brantley grew up in a community of educators, which included her father, who inspired her “lifelong dedication to education.”

Before coming to Beaufort County, Brantley taught in Craven and Pitt Counties.

In addition to her work in schools, she served as a Reading Research to Classroom Practice state-level trainer and coach for the Northeast region.

“These roles have deepened my commitment to fostering literacy and excellence in teaching,” Brantley added.

Brantley is a graduate of East Carolina University, where she earned a degree in Elementary Education and a Master of School Administration. “I am truly honored to be a part of the Riverside Middle School team and look forward to building great things together here in Martin County,” said Brantley.

“We are thrilled to welcome Suzanne Brantley to the Martin County Schools team,” said Dr. Michelle White, Superintendent of Martin County Schools. “She brings a wealth of experience, not only in the administrative area, but as a well-rounded educator who will help us ensure the students of Riverside Middle School and Martin Innovative Middle School continue to grow, thrive, and have the best educational experience possible.”
