Congratulations to the E.J. Hayes Elementary School Battle of the Books team. They finished second place in the Regional Battle of the Books competition held Tuesday, April 18, at North Pitt High School. Eleven teams participated in the regional competition.
The team advanced to regional competition after winning the Martin County Schools event earlier this semester.
Congratulations to team members (front row) Nicholas Leary, Reavis Turner (back row) Will Saunders, Aubrey Voris, Olivia Smith and Emma Edmonds. Congratulations also go out to their coaches, Mrs. Joann Wall and Mrs. Shelia Toler.
The coaches say they are proud of the team members for their hard work and dedication and added the family and parent support has been “phenomenal.”
