Students read The Secret to Freedom in Leggett’s class and Sweet Clara & The Freedom Quilt in Brown-Hardison’s class. The students then compared and contrasted those two stories in Brown-Hardison’s class. After reading those two stories they created their own quilt square in Leggett’s room. Ms. Hill’s EC self contained class joined in for the story and created their own quilt square.
