A little about our county and school system...

Martin County is located in northeastern North Carolina approximately 80 miles west of the Outer Banks and 25 miles northeast from East Carolina University in Greenville. The overall population of Martin County is about 23,400. The largest town is Williamston.  Other smaller towns throughout the county include Robersonville, Jamesville, Hamilton, Hassell, and Bear Grass.  Martin County is bisected by US Highway 64 which runs east-west from the coast to Raleigh, and US Highway 17 which runs north-south from the Virgina state line down to New Bern, Wilmington, and beyond.  Martin County has a rich agricultural and historic heritage.  Please visit the Martin County Department of Travel and Tourism for more details.

The Martin County School System currently operates 10 schools—two high schools, two middle schools, and six elementary schools. Our current student population is about 3,150 students in grades Pre-K through 12.  We are one of the largest employers in the county with approximately 499 full and part-time staff members.  We offer a number of exciting opportunities for students including a German Exchange Program, Wright Flight, STEM programs, and a variety of both athletic and academic teams and activities.  There is something for everyone.  Our motto is "Working Together...Making a Difference" and as a small district, we understand that it does indeed take everyone working together to help our students achieve great things.
