Pandemic-Electronic Benefits Tranfers
Chris Mansfield
Wednesday, May 13, 2020

North Carolina has been approved by the USDA to participate in the Pandemic-Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) program.  For children who participate in a school meal program, each family will receive an electronic transfer of funds depending on several factors.

Since Martin County Schools participate in the Community Eligibility Program, all MCS students' families are eligible to receive this benefit.  Families already participating in the SNAP program will receive disbursements through their existing cards.  Families not participating in SNAP should receive a new P-EBT card soon, if they have not already received it.

Two installments will be made--one at the end of May and the second later in June.

If you have any questions about the program, please visit the NC Department of Health and Human Services website at

or you can call the State 2-1-1 hotline or call 1-888-892-1162.  The call is free and confidential.
