District Improvement Plan

This is the Martin County District Improvement Plan for 2016-2017.  The Martin County School District is required to develop this plan due to the fact that a majority of schools eligible to earn a performance grade earned a D or F and either "did not meet growth" or "met growth" according to North Carolina General Statues.  Within this plan are goals and strategies that designated low-performing schools will use to improve their school performance grade and student growth score.

Principals and teachers in all our schools work very hard to meet the educational needs of all our students.  However, in some cases, we must make changes to instruction in order to get the results we need for the success of our schools and our students.  This plan outlines the practices low-performing schools with help from the school district will implement to improve school and student outcomes.

We invite you to submit written comment regarding this plan by filling out the accompanying digital form.  Your constructive comments may be used to strengthen the plan prior to its submission to the Department of Public Instruction.
